JD FRONTIERS
Frontier Mileage Privacy Policy
Updated October 8, 2026
Who we are
Frontier Mileage is provided by J.D. Frontiers L.L.C. (JD Frontiers). This policy describes the Android app and its optional Lifetime Pro purchase. For privacy questions, contact jdfrontiers@gmail.com. Our website has a separate website privacy notice.
Location and activity recognition
Frontier Mileage accesses and collects precise device location (GPS coordinates) to record routes, measure trip distance and calculate mileage when you choose live recording. If you enable automatic tracking, Frontier Mileage collects location data to detect and measure drives even when the app is closed or not in use. Activity-recognition signals detect entering or leaving a vehicle so the app can start or stop recording without continuously running GPS while idle. These signals are used for driving detection, not health or fitness monitoring.
The app explains background tracking before requesting permissions. You may decline and enter trips manually. You can stop an active recording from the app or its notification, turn automatic tracking off in Tracking health, or revoke permissions in Android settings. GPS availability, Android settings and phone battery restrictions affect recording.
Your logbook stays on your device
The app keeps trip dates, distance, classifications, purposes, notes, vehicle and odometer records, saved places, business/client/project labels, rates, expenses, receipts and correction history in its private storage on your device. You do not need a Frontier account. We operate no server for your logbook and do not automatically upload these records. The app has no advertising SDK, Frontier analytics or automatic Frontier crash-report upload.
Choose how much location detail to keep
For completed trips you can keep the full accepted route, only the start and destination, or distance only. Changing the default applies to future completed trips. Applying retention to existing trips removes the selected coordinate detail from those records. Saved places are separate; you can delete them as well. Stored distances and historical calculations remain available. Removed coordinates cannot be restored unless they exist in a backup. Deletion is not a promise of forensic erasure.
Receipts, reports and backups
Receipt images come from a photo you deliberately select or a camera you open. The app saves a resized, normalized image in private app storage and removes embedded photo metadata from that copy. It does not delete your original gallery photo.
Reports omit route coordinates but may contain the names, notes and financial information you choose. Backups can include your complete ledger, retained location detail and receipt images. Plain backups are readable by anyone who has the file. Pro offers password-protected backups using authenticated encryption. Keep backup files and their passwords secure.
Google services and purchases
Google Play services supplies location and activity-recognition functionality. Google Play Billing handles the optional one-time Lifetime Pro purchase, purchase status and purchase acknowledgement. The app receives purchase ownership information and stores a local entitlement cache and a hashed purchase identity so previously verified Pro remains available offline. You enter payment details with Google, not with Frontier Mileage.
Google services can process service, device, network, diagnostic and transaction information under Google's policies and your device or account settings. Our local logbook design does not mean that Google services never communicate over a network. See Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. A first purchase or restoring ownership on a new installation requires Google Play and an internet connection.
If JD Frontiers gives you a complimentary gift code, the app validates it on your device and saves a local access grant separately from Google Play ownership. The raw code is not included in diagnostics or backups. A gift grant does not provide access to anyone else's logbook.
Sharing is your choice
The Android file picker, camera, share sheet, print service and any destination apps are separate system or installed services. When you choose to export, save to a cloud provider, share, print or email support, the destination you select handles that information under its own policies. We do not control copies after export. We do not sell your logbook or send its location, receipts or financial records to advertising services.
Retention and deletion
Records remain on your device until you edit or delete them, replace your ledger through a confirmed restore, clear the app's storage or uninstall it. The app excludes its data from Android automatic backup and device transfer. Create a backup before changing phones or uninstalling if you want to keep your records.
Delete all local data removes app-owned records and cached exports. It cannot delete files you have already exported, original gallery photos, copies held by recipients, or Google's purchase records. Delete those copies through their respective services. A restore replaces local records only after validation and confirmation; it does not grant permissions or purchase ownership.
Diagnostics and support
Local tracking diagnostics are bounded and omit route coordinates, customer labels and purchase tokens. You choose whether to export them. If you contact support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send, and use them to respond and resolve the request. Avoid sending sensitive route or receipt details unless they are needed. We keep support correspondence as needed to handle the request and applicable legal or business obligations. You can request deletion of support correspondence at jdfrontiers@gmail.com. We cannot remotely access or delete the logbook on your phone.
Audience and policy updates
Frontier Mileage is a work and personal driving logbook intended for adults, not a service directed to children. We may update this notice when the app's practices change. The date above identifies this version. Material changes to background data use will be explained in the app where required.
